Patricia Boyle is a freelance writer and photographer whose numerous human–interest articles and stories have appeared in North American newspapers and magazines since 1996. In 2005 she turned her focus to writing books. Her first was the biography of Norma Shephard, whom she met in 1998. Patricia first stepped into the role of public relations for the Mobile Millinery Museum and later took the role of Madame Patrice, milliner, Norma Shephard's assistant at hat shows and exhibits. She recorded events, growth, successes and tidbits for the book she knew she would one day write. When her sister closed the doors of Walker Hall Tearoom and Antique Shop and sold the charming century home that stands in Beamsville on the shore of Lake Ontario, Patricia gathered historical facts of the manor. She told the building's story in Walker Hall Tearoom, Hints, Haunts and Secrets as well as revealing the recipes for the soups, desserts and sandwiches that were served for thirteen years in the famous tearoom. Patricia's first reading choice is fiction, so in 2007 she wrote a novel, The Socks 'N Sandals Club. Protagonist, Willard Marsh, moves to a small town where the local ladies are conspiring to erect a new welcome sign proclaiming their town to be a town 'with class'. Willard has his own style of dressing and it is definitely not 'with class'. Soon he has men in the community joining him in a club for men, one where they all have the gall to wear socks in their sandals. If you've ever lived, or wanted to live in a small town, you'll find this story amusing. She is currently writing a cosy mystery novel. For more information email psboyle@rogers.com |
