If it's up to long-time resident Candace Morgan and her associates, Faymus's new welcome sign will proclaim their panache. But there's a new club in town, The Socks 'N Sandals Club, headed by recent arrival, retiree Willard Marsh, whose unconventional attire draws stares and giggles. Before long his club's notoriety is spreading out of control. Can the `men only` club be squelched before it slings embarrassment and mortification on Faymus? Just how far will Candace Morgan go to protect her small town's image? Will the Socks 'N Sandals Club Survive? And what tagline on the sign will ultimately welcome visitors to Faymus?
Author Bio: The Socks 'N Sandals Club is Patricia Boyle's first novel. While she thoroughly enjoyed writing her first two books, The Hat Lady and Walker Hall Tearoom, Hints, Haunts and Secrets, she relished the opportunity to let her imagination control her fingers on the keyboard. "it is really true," she says, "as you get to know the characters, they do dictate the story." Patricia has been freelance writing since she retired from teaching in 1996, finding a ready market in Canadian and Amercian Magazines and newspapers. She writes regularly but allows her family and retiree social life their share of time.

Welcome to Walker Hall, stately manor built in 1848 on the south shore of Lake Ontario in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula.
Please, come in and feel the aura of generations who have called her home. Enter the expansive foyer where sweethearts met.
Tread the stairs where ladies ascended, the hems of their ball gowns raised daintily above their ankles.
From the balcony survey the lake where once tall ships docked. Come into the parlour. Is that bagpipes you hear?
Step into the family room and count the nine doors. Can you smell the hearty aroma of soup wafting from the kitchen?
Walk into the dining room where for thirteen years the most delicious treats were served. Then try the recipes that made Walker Hall Tearoom famous and so well-loved.

Questions! Visitors to retrospective hat shows and exhibits ask questions, not only about the Mobile Millinery Museum's hats,
clothes and accessories but also about the personal and business life of the museum's creator and director, Norma Shephard.
How? Why? When? Where? What? Some raise their questions from the audience. Others line up quietly afterwards to satisfy their curiosity.
Many may like to know more but are shy to ask.
For more information, appearances, a review copy of the Hat Lady, excerpt, profile of Norma Shephard, interviews or contest and promotion opportunities,
please contact the author at
